My new thing: The Next Next Thing!
I've launched a podcast, and I'd appreciate your support!
Heyo,
It’s been a while! I’m not necessarily resurrecting Not Pretty, Not Rich, but I did want to update you all on what I’m working on.
I’ve spent the past nine months working on a podcast concept through Podcast Incubator at Stony Brook University, and officially launched the project.
It’s called “The Next Next Thing,” and it’s a podcast that discusses the long-term effects of current events. You might think of it as the inverse of “The Daily” — basically, I’m hoping to get a better sense of how things that are occurring right now are going to affect us all years or decades in the future.
It’s a simple show: I host it, I have a guest, we talk about a topic, and hopefully, you come away from it having learned something new. I certainly have.
The first episode is up now, and it talks about an interesting topic: Aliens. Specifically, how we’d tell the public if we were to discover alien life. It’s more about science communication, really, and how we’ve broken our ability to convey important information (and, of course, what that means for the future).
You can hear it here:
You can listen to the show on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or anywhere you get your podcasts.
I’m writing to ask you to subscribe to the feed, leave a review, share with your friends, etc. I’d appreciate it very much.
I’ll likely send out another email as new episodes come out. If you want to spare your inbox, you can unsubscribe from this newsletter (which may get some new life). Or, feel free to reply or email me, and I’ll remove you.
That’s all for now, thanks for listening!
Sam
